How to Read a Medication Label Correctly

April 15, 2026 Pharm. Chika Eze

Every medication label tells a small story: the active ingredient, the dose, when to take it, and what to avoid.

Look for the dosage strength (e.g. 500mg), the directions, the expiration date, and any warnings about food, alcohol, or driving.

If anything is unclear, your pharmacist is one phone call away.
